SINGAPORE – Christmas has officially begun in Orchard Road on Saturday (Nov 11)

Themed “Endless Wonder”, this year marks the 27th year running that the Hitachi Group of Companies have been bringing the Christmas cheer to visitors as the main sponsor for this signature festive light-up.

This year’s light-up span a total of 2.88km, from Tanglin Mall to Plaza Singapura

Mr. Kojin Nakakita, Chairman of Hitachi Asia Ltd. Presented S$230,000 to the Community Chest.

At the light-up ceremony held at ION Orchard, Mr. Kojin Nakakita, Chairman of Hitachi Asia Ltd. represented the Hitachi Group of Companies in Singapore to present a cheque of S$230,000 to Community Chest, the fund-raising arm of the National Council of Social Services. “This remarkable contribution by Hitachi is proof of our continuous effort. Together with our Group of Companies, Hitachi is one of the most respectable brands in Singapore for sure” said Shunya Hashimoto, President of Hitachi Construction Machinery Asia & Pacific Pte. Ltd.

As Orchard Road was transformed into a dazzling display of lights and shimmering stars for the Christmas season, it was a “WOW” moment to witness “Endless Wonder” in its full splendor. President Halimah Yacob officiated the ceremony.
